Praying for the Teabaggers: Psalm 109:8

19 11 2009

Haven’t been blogging much, but this one got me so mad I had to hang at the office a bit late and fire this off:  Anyone who would be seen wearing a shirt citing the Bible in order to wish death on a United States President is neither Christian, nor American.  They’re slime.

We are reaching new levels of disgustingness with the Fright Wing.  A pox on the Republican leadership for their fear of speaking out to counter this kind of BS.  Blood will be on their hands if anything comes of this.

There’s a new slogan making its way onto car bumpers and across the Internet. It reads simply: “Pray for Obama: Psalm 109:8”

A nice sentiment?

Maybe not.

The psalm reads, “Let his days be few; and let another take his office.”

Presidential criticism through witty slogans is nothing new. Bumper stickers, t-shirts, and hats with “1/20/09” commemorated President Bush’s last day in office.

But the verse immediately following the psalm referenced is a bit more ominous: “Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.”
